We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at Eleven Strands. Both the crab meat ($27) and the Wagyu Beef Burger ($28) were delicious. Outside there are 2-3 tables that can accommodate animals.
The food at Chicken Pie Kitchen is delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend trying this place for shrimp or crab cakes and hoon. However, the cafe is quite small and can feel a bit cramped at peak times. Best to go at peak times if you want to bring your dog.

Biscuits go with me almost everywhere, so the first thing I do when choosing a place to eat is to check if they are dog friendly.
The Best Dog Friendly Pubs In The Peak District
Now I understand why not all places allow dogs. Not everyone is as obsessed with their four-legged furry friends as we are. Still, I’m grateful to have a dog-friendly place, even if it’s just an area where the dogs can have lunch and dinner with us.
Bonus points if the place offers water, treats, or even a blanket for the dog. We love to spoil.
So read on to find what I think is the best dog-friendly pub in the Peak District. These pubs not only welcome your furry friends, but also offer great food and service.
Packhorse was where we went to the pub with our friends from school for a much needed chat. All three of us have dogs, but we don’t have kids, so being dog-friendly is a priority. That said, when we all bring our dogs, things can get a little chaotic!
11 Dog-friendly Pubs And Bars In Sydney To Visit With Your Pup
Little Longstone’s pack horse is a local favorite. It’s a real country pub, cozy and warm fires are lit in the winter and tables and chairs are tucked into random corners of this old building. They also have a covered area in the garden for more space and also have a wood burning fireplace.
It’s just as perfect a pub for enjoying a cake after a lunchtime stroll as it is for dinner with friends. My friends love the pork belly which is always on the menu, although I would like to see what specials they have. Their menu is usually a bit different from your normal pub and I’m sure they have some interesting dishes to try.
The staff are also very friendly and will always do their best to help you, even if they are often very busy. I recommend making a reservation.

Best Dog-friendly Pubs In The Cotswolds
Another favorite pub of my friends, the Prince of Wales, if a bit more upmarket. Dogs are only allowed in the more comfortable ‘pub’ area downstairs, although the menu is the same everywhere, so if you have a dog around, you’ll be staying downstairs.
Upstairs is more like a restaurant atmosphere. There is also a “restaurant” area on the ground floor where you can see directly into the kitchen. They have a wide variety of dishes, from traditional fish and chips or steak to more exclusive dishes. I’d like to see what’s new on their menu, like local partridge or caramelized figs.
They have a nibbles menu if you need a half-meal and Fish and Soda Fridays are a must for Fish and Chips with a glass of fizz.
The Remarkable Hare at Matlock is not quite in the Peak District, but a few miles from the edge of the park. However, this is a popular place for people to stay when visiting the Peaks. Remarkable Hare is very busy, so I recommend booking on weekends or any popular day.
The Best Dog-friendly Hotels
They usually don’t book the bar area, but you can still see a line on some days. They have a great menu with a mix of classics like burgers, pizza and empanadas. They also have a tapas menu or “platitos” if you want to share a few things. I really love their Open Gyros, but I will warn you that they are huge. Almost big enough to share.
They are super dog friendly, dogs are allowed throughout the restaurant and bar. They also have a dog stand at the entrance with treats, water bowls, blankets and even toys for the dogs to use during the visit.
The Royal Oak is another popular pub that you may want to book. Most places are a short drive away, although it’s close to the High Peak Trail and the Tissington Trail, so if you like to do a lot of walking, this could be the perfect stop or end of the day. They also have a campsite.
