Best Dog Friendly Beaches On The East Coast
Known as a party beach in the summer, it gets very quiet in the off-season and runs free for dogs. Dogs are welcome daily between 9/16-5/14. The catcher only needs to get a davy dog license from the city hall. They offer 3 day, 8 day and lifetime licenses. The kiosk outside the town hall is available 24X7 and sells 3 and 8 day permits The beach is almost a mile long and has beach facilities for you.

Often cited as one of the best beaches in the Hamptons, Main Beach allows dogs starting October 1, ending the second Saturday in May. You just need to make sure that if your dog is within 300 feet of the road that you keep it on a leash to prevent accidents and injuries. East Hampton has five or so beaches that allow your dog to run free in the off-season.
The Jersey Shore is not known for its dog-friendly beaches. Most do not allow dogs in the summer and some allow dogs to hunt in the fall. However, Asbury Park has two options in the off-season. Bradley Beach is just south of Asbury Park and accepts off-leash dogs 9/16-4/20. It’s a quieter beach than some near Asbury, but it’s clean and beautiful and parking is cheap. 8th Avenue Dog Beach is one of the NJ beaches that allows dogs in the summer, but only from 6pm to 8:30am. Topsail Island, part of the northern side of the barrier islands, features a town and beach called Topsail Beach. From October 1, dogs can roam free in the entire 26 mile radius of the beach. Watch out for the sea turtles, as there are many hatching sites along the beach. Topsail Beach, the town itself, is beautiful with less than 500 residents and plenty of shops to walk through.

Both Tenby North Beach and Castle Beach have dog restrictions from 1 May to 30 September. Tenby South Beach is the best place to walk your dog on the sand. There are some restrictions on the left side of the South Beach parking lot but the rest of the beach is free for your dog to roam and play.
Jackson’s Bay is a dog-friendly beach on Barry Island, but note that Whitmore Bay has a dog restriction from May 1 to September 30 each year.
