Jackson Hole is a pet-friendly getaway here in the Tetons – you can even take your pup to the post office and have the clerk drop him off! Furry four-legged friends are welcome at a surprising number of motels and hotels, from the city’s budget properties to the five-star Four Seasons Resort in Teton Village. There are also a variety of dog-friendly areas throughout the valley, and some restaurants even allow your pet to wait for you (on a leash) on the patio or outdoor patio. Additionally, pets are also allowed to visit nearby national parks with some restrictions.
Dog Friendly Lodging Near Jackson Hole Wy
Because Jackson Hole is a major ski and tourist destination, the hotel industry wants to make it as easy as possible for visitors to bring their pets with them on vacation to this incredibly beautiful corner of Wyoming. Why should pet owners have so much fun? Let your dog play too! There are many hotels and inns that accept pets, usually for a small fee.
Jackson Hole Holiday Rentals & Homes
• Alpenhof Lodge: Two pets up to 50 pounds for an additional fee of $30 per pet per night. Pet-friendly rooms are limited.
• Pousada no Riacho: A maximum of two pets are accepted; A fee of US$25 per day is added to the room rate.
• Snow King Vacation: No weight or breed restrictions; Maximum of two pets per room. Pets are only allowed in hotel rooms and not in condominiums.
Pets are not allowed to be left alone in your hotel room. If you’d rather not take them with you all day, you can look for a special kitten with friends and other four-legged friends during the day or at night. We recommend Happy Tails Pet Resort at Spring Creek Animal Hospital and DogJax.

Grand Teton National Park is also home to pet-friendly places like Jackson Lake Lodge & Cottages, Colter Bay Village Cabins & Tent Cabins, and park-run camping and RV parks.
When it comes to traveling in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, the rule of thumb is that pets can go anywhere a car can go (roads, campgrounds, picnic areas) as long as they are on a leash. Dogs are not allowed on any of the dirt trails in either park, limiting the hikes and day trips visitors can take during their visit to the area.
Many dog-friendly restaurants/cafés around Jackson have patios during the summer months, including Cafe Genevieve, Cowboy Coffee, Cutty’s Bar and Grill, Silver Dollar Bar and Grill, Bubbas-Bar-B-Que, and Sidewinders Tavern.
Pet Place Plus and Teton Tails are the area’s best pet stores, but you can also find pet food and toys at Albertsons, Smiths and Big R Ranch.

If your pet becomes sick or injured during your visit, we recommend taking them to Spring Creek Animal Hospital.
Dogs must be kept on a leash on all trails and are not permitted in city parks. However, there are a variety of dog-friendly areas throughout the Jackson Hole area that PAWS Mutt-Mitt bag dispensers can easily identify at trailheads.
Some of the most popular places to exercise your dog include Emily’s Pond on the Snake River and the south side of the West Bank River. These locations are located on both sides of the Snake River – with great views of the Tetons – and can be found on HWY 22 toward Teton Village and Wilson. Cache Creek is an extensive trail system not far from the Snow King base area and is one of the most popular places for locals and visitors to walk their dogs. You can also head to Gros Ventre National Forest to take your dog swimming at Slide Lake. Check out Jackson Hole’s pet friendly map.
There are places throughout the valley, including the Bridger Teton National Forest, that have set up campgrounds that allow your dog some freedom of movement. However, for the safety of your dog and wildlife, it is important that you keep your dog on your property and on a leash at all times.
