Holkham Beach offers a great place to stretch your legs all year round, but there are a few caveats to note. The sea also acts as an environment and at certain times of the year, various animals start breeding in their habitat.
Letting dogs run can cause a disturbance and the Holkham team work hard to keep dogs safe and animals unaffected. For this reason, from early April to late August, some areas of the beach only allow dogs on leads. The remaining 70% of the beach is open for walking – as long as the dog is under strict supervision. The zones are well marked, so you should have no problem sticking to a certain time of year.
