Knoydart is on the British mainland, but can only be reached by boat or by walking a few miles from the nearest road. The views here are exceptional. Last time we visited we saw sharks and marsupials from the boat, and this time we saw deer, pine martin and native sheep.
Packing light won’t be easy this time around, as the mail only leaves three times a week and you’ll need to bring everything you need with just a small post office bag to get your supplies. Especially with two dogs!

The cottage we are staying in sleeps 7 people and has a room with 3 double beds and 1 additional single bed.
The kitchen is well-equipped with all the kitchen appliances you need, including a dishwasher, two fireplaces, three comfortable sofas and a large dining table that can easily seat seven people.
Owner David has converted this property into a cozy and comfortable home by the sea. Many local photos and paintings decorate the walls, and beach-themed books and pebbles add to the decor. There are plenty of books, DVDs, and board games to keep you entertained for a week or more. I tried a 1000 piece puzzle and didn’t get very far!
Best of all, you’re just seconds away from a quick stroll along the beach or a long walk in the mountains. The house is dog-friendly, with a front porch for cleaning muddy paws before heading inside, and any dog will be happy in front of the fire on a cold day.
