Our first stop is Callaway Vineyard. The hotel is located on 20 hectares of vineyards. This was the most beautiful vineyard we visited. Super pet friendly! The vineyard was similar to Napa Valley with the charm of a beautiful Sonoma winery.
Be careful – a large red-tailed hawk flew over our car as we arrived and perched above us on a light pole. You should keep this in mind when traveling with small dogs. There were many hawks in the area looking for treats for the winery. At night, the hawk gives way to the owl. If you go for a walk, if you’re careful and considerate of your surroundings, you’ll be fine.

Europa Village was a very cute, charming property with gift shops and lots of people enjoying vineyard tastings on the terrace. As first-time visitors to Temecula, we had no idea how welcoming the whole experience would be. This wine also tasted very different from Callaway Vineyard. The grounds were more involved and not exposed to the elements as much as the Callaway property. When we tasted our first wine, we noticed a number of dogs around us. I said that Amy and Emily should have the same experience. After a very short discussion we had a drink and went straight back to the hotel to pick them up. Little did they know, they would soon be immersed in the Temecula wine experience. We’re going to Bailey’s Winery.
Bailey Winery was less than a mile from the previous vineyard and low and behold, very dog ​​friendly!! The girls were waiting in the tasting room and on the grounds. Leaving Bailey Vineyard, we returned to the hotel to relax, light the fireplace, order room service for dinner, and share a bottle of wine. The South Coast Winery Resort and Spa is surrounded by meadows and vineyards. Our room was great – clean, spacious and comfortable. It was safe from a pet’s point of view and a perfect place to enjoy the fresh green grass. The girls were very happy there (watch out for those hawks and owls).
After a day of wine tasting, we all decided to do something we rarely do – sleep in on a Sunday! Amy and Emily were happy about it. They both love a good night’s sleep, especially after a car ride and walk the night before. One thing is clear – they never rush in the morning.
