Today is not like most days. Mom is packing a lot of her bags. He takes her camera and puts her shoes on. one man. He put a leash on me and that means I’m going too!
We’re outside the door. I’m really good at jumping into cars by myself and he said I’m a good girl. I like this car. Because it is magical. My mom and I go in and sit for a while and then strangely end up together. Sometimes it’s one of my favorite places and sometimes it’s a completely new place.

We go and go and go again. It seems like several years have passed. We’ll make a few stops to go to the bathroom. This is truly unusual. Where can I go?
I stuck my head out the window. Oh my god, it’s getting colder outside! And no two smells are the same. This is a new place! The big highways are gone and the roads are curved. Ah… I get it now! We’re going to the mountains!
We get out of the car at a beautiful country house. There are so many new scents. I’m excited! After unpacking a bit, my mom puts me in the car and drives to a place called Ugly Dog in Cashiers. I wonder if only ugly dogs are allowed. Then I am not allowed. I love it. My mom said Ugly Dog is just an expression and all dogs can eat outside in the yard with their owners. So I hang out with my mom while she eats and drinks. Then we drive back to the cabin. I need to get some sleep before I start my new adventure!
After breakfast, I returned to the car. I’m really excited! Car rides are my favorite thing to do and we ride them over and over again. I stuck my head out the window. We are on a street with beautiful Christmas lights. I heard my mother say it was the main street of the Highlands.

I park and start walking. We go to the store and everyone in the store greets me and pats me. Mom said if I was okay I would get a treat and she would make sure I was very, very okay.
Dogs run to and from the shops on Hlavná Street. We go in and it’s a deal for me! There are games and snacks everywhere! These are the Highlands Mountain Paws. My mom goes to the snack buffet and fills my bag with natural treats, while I welcome my new poodle friend to the store. He also grabbed a new rope toy. After you check out, we’ll head back to the car and enjoy one of our snacks. But it won’t last long!
We got in the car and a few minutes later we were at Highlands Dog Park! There are so many dogs to play with. I take my Australian Shepherd and run, run, run all over the dog park. My mom pulls out the rope toy she bought me from Highlands Mountain Paws and Australian Shepherd Lucy and I start playing my favorite game, tug of war.
I’m so tired after all. I just fell there
