Best Pet Friendly Getaways Near Me – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down with my calendar and plan tons of trips for the year ahead. It’s so cold and dark outside that it’s incredibly satisfying to sit down with a laptop and plan an adventure.
Even though we took a break from our big international travels during the pandemic, we loved reconnecting with the Seattle area and all of its amazing (and dog-friendly!) weekend getaways. After spending ten years in New York and Chicago, it was so fun to come back and rediscover my old favorite getaways, as well as see all the new innovative glamping spots, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have popped up. Best of all, I love seeing how many of them are offering dog-friendly options for your stay. I feel so happy when we can take Dave and Lizzie on vacation.

I’m dying to plan a trip to this beautiful inn and event venue near picturesque Friday Harbor, which has several “dog-friendly” cabins for friendly pooches. Is this image incredible? We also love the incredible hiking and views from San Juan Island. Dog details are listed under each cabin description here.
Bring your best friend for some wine country magic at one of our favorite resorts in the area. We’ve been making weekend trips to Sedgecliff since 2015, and it never disappoints. Hiking, wine tasting and panoramic views of the Columbia River Gorge make this an absolutely dreamy vacation. Here are the details of their puppy policy.
Captain Whidbey is at the top of my 2022 travel list. With recent features in publications like Vogue, this beautifully renovated historic inn has been popping up on my Instagram feed, and I can’t wait to visit. Click through the reservations system to see which rooms (like the Filson Cabin!) are marked as pet-friendly.
Walla Walla is one of the best wine regions in the country, with over 120 wineries, so honestly I can’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I’ve been bookmarking this modern, downtown hotel for some time, as it looks like a perfect base camp for a weekend in the snow or a weekend of wine drinking. Or both! A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available upon request. Details are given here.

We’ve blogged before about how much we love Getaway’s tiny homes and we’re taking a tour of the new Skagit Valley location. They are an ideal way to get into nature while staying warm and dry. And how amazing is that iconic bed window? Dogs are allowed for additional fee – details here.
Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with these waterfront fire pits. Although this Oregon Coast Lodge is a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful modern interior and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean make the drive worth it. Dogs weighing less than 25 kg are welcome in some rooms – more information here.
It’s my New Year’s resolution to book a stay at the Dreamy Lodge in St. Edward as soon as possible – which should be easy as it’s only a half-hour drive from the city. This historic seminary has been restored to become a luxurious and elegant retreat located on 326 acres of trails directly on Lake Washington. Plus, unwind after a day of sightseeing by visiting their spa or enjoying Pacific Northwest cuisine at Cedar + Elm. Dog details here.
We had a great weekend at the Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – and we wrote about it here – and the memories took me through the first months of lockdown. These 570-square-foot designer units offer amenities like private patios, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. Plus, they provide the ideal base camp for hiking and exploring the beautiful beaches of Vashon Island. Nine of the sixteen cottages are dog friendly, simply select ‘Pet Fee’ on the booking portal – more details here.

I’ve been dreaming of working my way into one of those Insta-famous A-frames for a very long time, and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Company. Located in the heart of the Mt., offers three different stunning A-frame cabins. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and all three allow pets for a fee. However, a word of caution: it can be hard to get a booking, as each of their amazing Insta posts gets thousands of likes. Pet information is listed under each cabin’s description.
We spent a delightful Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I was looking forward to the opportunity to return to its beautiful scenery and secluded beach that Lizzie loved visiting. Just steps from the Canadian border, this laid-back resort offers an ideal base camp for hiking and the incredibly picturesque views of the Northern Washington coast. They are extremely dog-friendly and pups are welcomed with their own bowl, bed and (at least during our visit) souvenir gifts. Dog details here.
Take a step back in time by staying in one of these vintage travel trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in the Willamette wine region. The trailers are equipped with pour-over coffee, luxurious bedding, and stylish bath robes. Puppies are allowed at Shasta Trailers and they provide more details here.
One of my favorite spots from downtown Anacortes. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to this quaint town with cute boutiques, delicious cafes, and beach views (Watermark Book Company is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington!) and we love the town’s decent hostels. The Majestic, for its comfortable rooms and incredible rooftop bar. Their detailed puppy policy can be found here.

I love a unique vacation and Winthrop’s Rolling Huts definitely offers something. These tiny homes were designed by Seattle’s Olson Kundig Architects as a modern alternative to camping. Go hiking or just relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views. There is a pet policy listed in the “Fees and Policies” section of their Hotels.com listing.
This luxury resort on Hood Canal claims to have been accommodating pups since 1913, and with a full menu of Fido-friendly amenities, we can believe it. Make memories by renting a kayak, hiking the trails, or simply enjoying the view. Read the dog’s description here.
Okay, so it’s not technically available yet, but we have signed up for notifications to receive reservations for the second launch of these beautiful RVs in Olympic National Park. They offer more comfort than standard camping while providing a secluded and sustainable way to get out into nature. Two locations are expected to open soon in Washington, and we’re hoping we can secure reservations for this summer. Their pet policy can be found in the FAQ section here.
I’m crazy about the beautiful new Water’s Edge suites at this historic Orcas Island inn, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself curled up there with a book. I think the only thing that might keep me away is the incredible menu at the on-site New Leaf Café. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in some rooms, suites and studios – details here.

If you haven’t heard of Tentrer yet, you’re missing out. We’ve stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on a trip to Maine that we wrote about here) and each visit was wonderful. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on exceptional private land, like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. You can also choose to pay a little extra to have one of their fruit tarts delivered to your location or farm fresh eggs for a delicious outdoor scramble. Learn more about Tantrer’s puppy policy here.
Granted, Idaho is a little far from Seattle, but we’ll travel almost any distance to be in this rolling scenery. Plus, the little details like the on-site sauna and antique coffee grinder really melt my heart. Pets are allowed, but after looking at the entry by staircase, you may have to decide if this will be a fun vacation for you.
