Best Dog Friendly Restaurants
One of the things I love about Malta is the huge number of (affordable) restaurants that serve nutritious food and drinks. The perfect Saturday activity in Malta is to spend the day visiting wonderful places for delicious bites and cocktails. Or better yet, find a hidden gem that offers something new!
15 Best Dog-friendly Restaurants In & Around Fort Worth, Tx
I always like to enjoy a good meal outdoors. So when we picked up our dog, I immediately started researching what (not) place to bring him. Fortunately, the Maltese is generally a multi-dog friendly pet. We don’t get no when we ask if we can bring our dog, and many places specifically advertise themselves as “pet-friendly restaurants.” But which ones are the best?
Here, you will find a list of my favorite dog friendly restaurants in Malta + Gozo!
I don’t know of a dog friendly restaurant in Malta from Nar. Being the perfect spot for anything from an after-work drink to a weekend lunch or casual dinner, I was delighted to learn that dogs are allowed too.
At NAAR you can find pet food from their dog menu. They can probably tell you it’s a pet friendly restaurant!
The Best Dog-friendly Restaurants In Austin
Naar is an open space where our dog can easily sleep next to our table. The best part is that this restaurant knows how to please the wallet. Not only do we get a bowl of water right away, they even have their own dog menu!
In this special menu you will find homemade dog food in different flavors. Whether your dog likes peanut butter or meat, he’s sure to enjoy hours at NAAR. In my opinion, this is the best pet restaurant in Malta.
Bring your dog to NAAR and get a homemade treat. Order 3 for €1.
Another place where our dog is spoiled is in the black sheep. It’s a great restaurant and bar in Sliema and one of my favorite places to take guests because everyone can find something they like on the menu.
Eat, Stay, Wag: Top Dog-friendly Restaurants In Johannesburg [2024]
Luckily Bo (our dog) can tag along and join in whether we sit outside or inside. He always eats water right away, but gets treats, including a big plate of bacon. Needless to say, it’s a good time for the whole team!
Black Sheep is a great dog-friendly place to bring your dog food or drink during the day and bring Bo and him for dinner in the evening.
Note that this is the most popular pet restaurant in Malta and most of the restaurant is a bar. at night and especially on weekends, so it may be best to leave your dog at home if it is noisy or attracted to people.
At The Black Sheep in Sliema, your dog can join the fun both indoors and outdoors. And if he’s lucky, he might even get some bacon!
The Best Dog-friendly Restaurants, Cafes And Bars In Hong Kong
Similar to Black Sheep, Smokehouse is a weekend favorite. It’s a great place for a good drink (their rhubarb cider is amazing), good company and good company. And that company usually includes a small boon that catches our and the staff’s attention.
On our last visit, we even got a nice discount off our bill – for Bo’s treat, thanks to our wonderful server. Whether we choose to stay inside or outside, we welcome our dog to join us.
If you go to the Smokehouse, be sure to try the amazing rhubarb cider. Whether you stay outside or inside, your dog is welcome either way.
Kuja started as a small, basement bar/restaurant, but has since moved to an open and airy space across the street. Bringing our dog here was never a problem.
Tails Will Be Wagged For 10 Of The Best Dog Friendly Restaurants Dublin
Kuja is making a comeback and is easily my favorite restaurant in Malta. We enjoy bao buns and beer while Bo sleeps listening to soft music in the background.
Sciacca is one of my favorite Maltese restaurants and probably the “best” on the list. So I was pleasantly surprised when we were allowed to bring our dog to dinner without hesitation.
The meat and wine selection here always makes for an amazing meal. An open dining area creates comfort – not only for us, but also for bo who keeps clothes under the table on the stand or on the floor. There are handy collapsible water bowls, all ready for their four-legged guests.
Finish your meal at Sciacca with one of the delicious delicacies. Your four-legged friend can mix in every meal.
The Best Dog-friendly (inside) Cafes, Restaurants And More In Dubai
The last restaurant on our list of favorite dog restaurants in Malta is not a Maltese restaurant, but a joke from Gozo. I’m sure there are many dog friendly restaurants in Gozo, but the one we visited (and loved) with our dog was Il Gabiano.
Il Gabiano in Marsalforn is a beautiful gem by the sparkling sea. Here you can find fresh fish – served in a pleasant environment. The food is amazing, but what makes this restaurant special is all the dogs running around.
That’s right, it’s not just this restaurant you can bring your dog to, there are (usually) several dogs! That’s because the owner has several thousand zus greeting guests or chilling inside. I’m not sure how our little Shih Tzu feels about them, but I love them!
Bring your dog to one of the best restaurants in Gozo. Your dog meets Shih Tzus at Il Gabbiano.

Above you will find five amazing restaurants in Malta and a list of restaurants in Gozo where all dogs can join in the fun. These are my current favorites not only because they are dog friendly, but also because they offer amazing food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.
As you know the restaurants are in the St Julians/Sliema/Gzira area as that is where we usually go to eat or drink nearby. Of course, there are more to add to the list and a hot tip is to search for “dog places near me” before you head out. Enjoy!
I hope this guide has given you some inspiration on where to take your dog for treatment next. To finish, I’ll answer some quick questions related to dog-friendly restaurants in Malta.
The Best Dog-friendly Restaurants In London
Malta has many pet friendly restaurants where you can bring your dog. Apart from dog-friendly restaurants, most shops allow dogs (but not supermarkets such as Towers supermarket).
There are so many dogs in Malta that you will find many dog owners out and about. Unfortunately, there aren’t many open natural spaces for dogs to enjoy. Personally, I find the Maltese to be very dog friendly, but not everyone agrees.
This largely depends on your dog’s behavior around people and crowded environments. If your dog is stressed in crowds or small spaces but is fine indoors, keep him indoors. But if your dog has separation anxiety and/or prefers to hang out with you and is well-behaved, it’s okay to bring him.
As this article makes clear, we have brought our dog Bo many places since we arrived. That doesn’t mean you have to start carrying your dog every now and then.
10 Best Dog-friendly Restaurants To Hang With Your Pup In Miami
We started adopting Bo for two reasons: First, he had a lot of separation anxiety after adoption. We work on it and sometimes we don’t leave it alone, but not for long. Second, Bo is a very good “pub dog”. He likes to walk with us, he falls asleep when we sit down. Bo doesn’t care about the conversation or the people around him or the smell of the food on the table. He was glad he didn’t have to be alone.
I know some dogs can be very different from this so they are better off alone in the house without any problems. All I can say is that if you want to bring your dog, it’s not a big deal. Book in advance
