Where Can I Get Free Dog Vaccinations – As part of Petco Love’s initiative to provide 1 million free pet vaccines, PEThood of GA plans to distribute free pet vaccines to all patients by the end of February. This includes patients coming for surgery, vaccination clinics or our new wellness clinic.
The free vaccines are made possible by Petco Love’s new national vaccination initiative, which provides 1 million free pet vaccines to existing animal welfare partners, including Planned PEThood of GA, for pets in need.
Where Can I Get Free Dog Vaccinations
Parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats are some of the most common fatal diseases in pets that can be prevented with a simple vaccine. It is estimated that 30% of pet parents do not take their pets to the vet each year for preventative care. To meet this critical need, we partner with Petco Love to provide free and accessible pet vaccines to ensure the health and well-being of our beloved pets.
Vaccination Clinic At South L.a. Shelter
As part of this effort, PEThood of GA plans to vaccinate 3,000 pets. In addition to being free for pets visiting their clinic in Duluth, they are hosting a free community event in Habersham County on February 26th to help an underserved area.
“Thanks to Petco Love, we are able to offer these important vaccines for free to pet owners,” said Lauren Frost, development coordinator. “We encourage community members to take advantage of this free resource and ensure the health and well-being of pets in our community.”
Vaccines distributed through the Petco Love initiative will be DAPPv canine and HCP feline vaccines, which require a veterinary exam ($15-$25) or surgery at the time of vaccination.
“It is heartbreaking to see any animal suffer or die from a preventable disease. The situation is further exacerbated when unvaccinated pets end up in overcrowded shelters, where these deadly diseases can spread rapidly, causing more deaths, skyrocketing costs and making it difficult to save pets’ lives,” says Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “By building greater awareness and by making this crucial preventative treatment more accessible to pets who do not currently receive these life-saving vaccines, we can prevent the dangerous spread of disease.”
