Dog Friendly Vacations Maryland – No family member should stay on your next vacation. Yes, even your furry family members deserve a great vacation to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. That’s why we offer two pet-friendly accommodations at the Brampton Inn.
We allow our pet-friendly breakfast guests in Maryland to bring two dogs of any size during their stay at Robin’s Nest and one small dog at Russell Cottage. These cabins are a more comfortable and spacious option than pet-friendly hotels on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in North America, and the Susquehanna River travels 200 miles from its source, from Havre de Grace, Maryland to Norfolk, Virginia, where it finally meets the Atlantic Ocean. With more than 11,000 miles of coastline, getting to the beaches along the entire west coast is a great way to enjoy the bay. But to better understand its scale, you can see it from the ship.
Dog-friendly Getaways In Bc
Taking a dog-friendly Chesapeake Bay cruise isn’t as difficult as you might think. Watermark cruises in Annapolis and Baltimore accept pets on day cruises. Patriot Cruises allows friendly dogs. They must either sit on your lap or lie at your feet and must not block your ride outside of St. Michael’s. Additionally, there are many private charter boats available up and down the Chesapeake Harbor.
Here are some things to consider when choosing the right option for you and your dog: Whether you prefer a guided tour with a special attraction or just a fun one; (low wave action) is more suitable than small boats. How crowded can the boat be with people and possibly other dogs?
Talked a trip from Annapolis and organized it for Buster’s birthday. Unfortunately, when the tour we chose was cancelled, we were reminded that the boat is unpredictable. Flexibility is key when traveling with pets, so we settled on another option: a day trip from Annapolis Bay to the cute little town of St. Michael’s. Saturday morning we boarded the 65′ Lady Sarah Annapolis with about 140 people and a pug named Zoe.
On this cruise, pets are allowed on both the open upper deck and the enclosed lower deck. We decided to stay outside and chose a spot in the forward corner of the boat where the boys would not be under the feet of the walking passengers. Soon the two boys fell asleep.
Dog-friendly Hotels, Restaurants, And Other Places To Go In Ocean City
The cruise on the Chesapeake was over two hours and we saw the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and many other boats for a fun day on the water. From this perspective, the lake holds 18 trillion gallons of water, enough to fill 50 billion bathtubs.
We arrived at St. Michaels Harbor around 12:30 and had three hours to explore before returning. Fortunately, we were in St. Michael’s last year, because three hours is not enough time to scratch the surface here. After 2+ hours of sleep, Ty and Buster were ready to stretch their legs, so we checked out the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and then took a tour of the St. Michael’s Nature Trail.
Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the ship. Ty and Buster propose to go home, but after that proposal fails, Ty is named “Captain of the Day”. The boys quickly got used to their irresponsible lives and fell asleep again under our table.
Our return trip took us past Thomas Point Shoal Light and brought us closer to the beautiful yachts.
20 Dog-friendly Vacation Destinations
Although we all had a great time, there are a few things I would do differently next time. First, I would have preferred a narrated tour that allowed us to learn about the Chesapeake Bay. We also love St. Michaels, but it is very busy on weekends during the season. Shopping or dining at a pet-friendly establishment, especially with a dog with your own challenges, can be more difficult when it’s crowded. If I had to reschedule this day, I would go to St. Michaels on a weekday and take one of the 65-75 minute Chesapeake cruises offered by Patriot Cruises. We hope that what we have learned will help make your day perfect.
Despite the cloudy and cold day, we had a great time with the folks from Bark Annapolis, Paws and Possibilities, LLC of the SPCA of Anna Arundel County. One of our favorite furries, Theo Sharpay, came by with his people and we also met up with some good friends from the area. Thanks to everyone who came!
Visiting these attractions with Ty and Buster is a dream come true. We’ll be blogging about each one, so buckle up and stay tuned!

Zach and I were very busy with work so we decided to hang out in Baltimore, Maryland. So early Saturday morning we packed our bags and headed north. Arlington to Baltimore is surprisingly short, especially on weekends. We managed to reach our destination in just over an hour.
Maryland Dog-friendly Travel Guide
Before planning our trip, we consulted with Charm City’s resident experts @ipartywithbrucewayne and @IbelieveinHD. They recommended some dog friendly activities for us but due to time and weather we couldn’t check them all out. I guess that means we have to go back.
Ah, the real reason for this weekend trip. We love exhibitions. This year our schedule only allowed us to attend the World Pet Show in Maryland. The exhibit was located at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, about 15 minutes north of Baltimore.
There, Navi visited the @sassywoof booth with her good friend @mayathedox. Navi went crazy with her dad’s credit card and bought herself two cute Sassy Woof bands. Our best find at the show was this super sticky roll on navy blue. We’ve seen ads for similar tools, but never seen one working in real life. Let me tell you they work and we are officially connected!
Zack, Navi and I spent a long time watching the Dock Dogs tournament. Hmm… think maybe Navi is a harbor dog?
