I’m one of the lucky ones who call the Central Coast home, and whether you live or are just visiting, there are so many wonderful dog-friendly things to do on the coast that I want to share with you. Here

I thought I’d start with some pet-friendly lodging options first, so if you’re planning a trip, you’ll probably start here. This is not an exhaustive list, but a few that I feel are most relevant to pet owners
Five Of The Best Beaches To Visit In Brittany For Summer
The apartment has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a combined kitchen-living room. The cabin includes kitchenware, diningware, washing machine and bed linen. There is a dog run in the fenced yard and it is a 5 minute walk to waterfalls, great for fishing, swimming and kayaking. Both Davistown and Saratoga have boat ramps less than a 5 minute drive away Dog friendly Terrigal and Avoca beaches are within a 15 minute walk as well as Arena Fair shopping center with cinema, gym and restaurants.
It is a good choice for families and active pets. Tuggerah Lake is nearby with 12km of cycle paths and the best dog beach on the coast at Nth Shelly is two minutes away.Â
The property is a renovated 3-bedroom home with a sunny open plan, deck and fully fenced garden. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, two bedrooms are doubles and the third has two bunk beds that can sleep up to 10 people. The kitchen is fully equipped, but you must bring your own bed linen and towels. The garden is fully fenced with a full height fence on all sides and there is also a dog run, food and water bowls.
This is a retro family home with a large covered outdoor dining area and a large pet friendly garden. It offers direct access to Budhwayi Lake for fishing, boating and jungle trail exploration. Bugewoi Beach is also a short drive away and is dog friendly

There is nothing better than the wide open space, especially for your dog. The Central Coast has a number of council-owned parks that allow pets. so be respectful, then keep your dog safe and pick up poo.
Tuggerah Oval is a fully fenced dog park, the park has three large fenced areas with an obstacle course and several water stations.
Peppermint Park Located on Langford Drive, Kariyanagar, this vast off-leash area offers plenty of space to roam.

Sensory Park Located on Showground Road in Lisro, this popular dog park is fully enclosed and has two sealed entrances to prevent the elusive pup from trying to escape. There are many trees for dogs, a water trough with a bowl
Fagan Park is located on the Brisbane Waterway at Point Clare This is a dog friendly park with leashes and collars
Overton Street Reserve is in Kincumber. The outdoor park is hidden from the main road behind a row of trees and stretches through a safe lot surrounded by houses and quiet streets for more than 150 metres.

Island Beach State Park
Nth Shelly Beach – Best dog beach on the coast, lots of sand, dunes and rock shelves to play and explore.
Wamberal Beach – Can be a bit crowded but ends at the waterfall, lots of fun
Avoca Beach is another busy place, especially on holiday… The main beach has a secluded area and also has access to Avoca Lake which is great for swimming.
McMasters Beach – This beach is off leash but you have to jump around the lake.

The coast also has some great bodies of water such as Tuggerah Lake, Buddhway Lake, Italong Beach and St. Hubert Island.
If you want to be a little more adventurous and get off the road and off the pavement, there are some great places to take yourself and your dog “off-road”. Nothing beats the fresh air you get in a state forest or national park, and the Central Coast has dog-friendly options.
Abbotts Falls Hiking Trail (Olney State Forest) – This trail is a fairly long hike of about 6-7 miles starting at the Pines Picnic Area. The trail descends to the Abbots Falls Lookout before returning to the picnic area through rainforest and blueberry bushes. This trail is perfect for summer as there are dammed pools where you and your dog can cool off and check out some trunk carvings.
Pines Walking Track – (Olney State Forest) – The Pines Walking Track is approximately 1 km long and is a great option for a short walk with your dog. The loop starts at the picnic area and follows Dora Creek under beautiful tall pine trees past a small rock pool before returning to the picnic area. The Pines Picnic Area is also dog-friendly, so plan a great party with your pooch.

Strickland Falls Track In Strickland State Forest – This short walk (about 1.5km) starts from the car park near the Banksia Rest Area and winds through wildflowers, streams and tall eucalypts to a small waterfall that is best seen after a few days of walking. RainÂ
Arboretum Track In Strickland State Forest – This walk is slightly longer at around 2-2.5km but includes some of the oldest and most beautiful trees on the Central Coast including 150 year old Australian Red Cedars, Bunias and Hoop Pines. As with all forests, ticks live there and are most active from August to April. Strickland State Forest is also open and open from sunrise to sunset
After all the exercise and play, you and your pet will need some serious fuel. Here is a list of places on the Central Coast where you and your dog are welcome to enjoy a tasty treat or a good coffee.
Bamboo Buddha – This Balinese-themed vegetarian cafe in Holgate is an absolute gem. You can take the chickens with you and enjoy the peace and unique delicious dishes that will impress meat eaters. It is only 5 minutes from Wamberal dog beach.
Best Dog-friendly Cornwall Beaches
Flour & Co is one of the most popular coffee places on the coast and you will see when you visit… the coffee is amazing. It’s located in Toon Bay, just a few minutes from Nth Shelly Dog Beach, so pop in on your way or when you’re done. There are several tables in front where you can sit with your dog and enjoy the baked goods
Point Cafe Avoca Beach – If you want to enjoy a meal while sitting overlooking the waves, this is the place for you. Walking distance to Avoca Beach and Lake, you can stop for an all day breakfast after an adventure with the dogs.
Anchor Coffee House – Bugewoi is your place if you’re heading north to avoid the crowds and is a great place for pets after sightseeing at Buddhwoi Beach or the lake.
