Best Pet Friendly Resorts Massachusetts – Looking for a dog friendly hotel in New England? I hate leaving my dog Roscoe at home when I travel. After all, holidays are more fun when you can bring your best friend. But finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England requires a lot of research. What is the hotel’s dog policy? Are there additional fees? Are there weight or gender restrictions? And you may worry that you have to sacrifice your comfort to travel with your dog. Are roadside motels and campsites the only option to “rough it”? Or are there places that not only allow dogs, but also cater for dogs and their owners?
I’m here to save you a lot of time and trouble when planning your next holiday with your dog. I have compiled a comprehensive list of my favorite dog friendly hotels in New England that I have stayed at with Roscoe. So the next time you’re on the go, you don’t have to leave your best friend behind! Get your paws on the most dog-friendly places to stay in New England.
Best Pet Friendly Resorts Massachusetts
Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes that no family vacation is complete without four-legged family members. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of all sizes in the cottage accommodation for a daily fee of $20 per pet. To book online, you can select any of the cottages, then add the pet fee at checkout.
Incredible Dog-friendly Glamping In New England
This resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without leaving your 700 acres. Choose from a wide variety of fun activities for the whole family, from the land to the lake. The hotel pool and beach are pet-free areas, but dogs have their own swimming area, Fanny’s Beach. We were even able to rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! You can also eat in one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining area, but you are welcome to dine with your dog in the outdoor casual seating area of the Red Mill. Dog walking and dog sitting services are also available if you want to have fun without Fido.
From land to water, Basin Harbor has plenty to do for dogs.
Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a stylish boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many of their properties, their pet policy allows dogs under 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of their three dog-friendly cottage suites, with lots of space and a private outside entrance. You can book these rooms online, make sure you include a note with the amount, size and name of your dog at checkout. Dogs are not allowed in guest rooms. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are only allowed on a lead on hotel balconies and outdoor common areas.
This hotel stands out for its stylish, elegant cabin decor. Decorated with a retro wood stove and cozy fur throws, the lobby lounge invites you to settle in with a book or a board game. You can have breakfast in the lobby coffee bar or enjoy drinks and small bites in the new vintage ski themed bar called only Après. You have to book in advance for the outdoor hot tub, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that you guarantee yourself. And the place can’t be beat. We were able to walk into the city center and the mountain service stops right in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect home base for you and your dog’s Vermont adventures.
Nantucket Pet-friendly Vacation Rentals
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a very special place to stay in the heart of northeastern Vermont. Per their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms for an additional $50 per night: Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation. You can select “Pet Friendly” to book your room online. The pub is so pet friendly that there is a friendly golden retriever working at the front desk and there is even an animal sanctuary on site. Be aware if your dog is reactive around other animals!
We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham room which was cozy yet comfortable. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the roaring wood burning fireplace. In the morning we were welcomed in the main hotel building with hot cakes and coffee. Just when we thought we couldn’t take another bite, the bartender brought out their famous pancakes with farm fresh blueberries. We couldn’t resist.
With 400 acres of unspoiled northeast land, this historic ranch is one of the most scenic places I’ve ever stayed. It was perfect for watching the sunrise at dawn full of pastel pinks and purples. Morning fog on hills and valleys.
The Kimpton Taconic in Manchester has one of the most generous hotel pet policies I’ve ever come across. Everyone is welcome, furry to furry, as long as they fit in the elevator! There are no restrictions on the size, weight, breed or number of pets, and there are no deposits or additional fees. Filter pets when ordering online and fill out the pet form when registering.
Pet And Dog Friendly Vacations In New Hampshire
Kimpton Taconic is the perfect place to pamper your dog. The rooms are stocked with food bowls, toys, treats and a plush Orvis dog bed. (Your dog must visit the Orvis flagship store down the road). Dogs are allowed in the lobby and front lobby of the hotel’s Copper Grouse restaurant. During the cold seasons, they have outdoor heaters to keep you and your dogs warm. You may also contact the front desk to request pet services including but not limited to pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services.
Crafted in Vermont in downtown Burlington, it’s a home away from home for you and your pet. This urban boutique pet bed and breakfast accepts well-behaved furry friends for $25 per pet per day. You can book directly online, add your dog to the number of guests and enter details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for large dogs. Even with Roscoe it was very comfortable and the bathrooms are down the hall (although at least they are private). The quirky character of the pub may not be to everyone’s taste, but it is in a great location within walking distance of the town. The owner is very friendly and willing to offer suggestions for pet friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs, they put dogs first. With a no-pet policy, canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxurious king cabins and guest houses with Vermont-made biscuits, dog beds and bowls. You can book for an additional fee of $50 per dog per night. Maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered when booking.
Pet Friendly Lodging Massachusetts
The pub invites you to “Come for the view, stay for the experience”. Located on 700 acres of rolling green hills, this resort has incredible views overlooking the Chittenden Reservoir. With direct access to this amazing outdoor playground, there’s no shortage of fun things to do with your dog all year round. During the warmer months, enjoy a private beach with free kayak, canoe and paddle board rentals. Explore ski and snow trails in winter and spring. Dine with your dog on the terrace with lovely lawns, lake and mountain views by day, and cozy fire pit seating by night.
Stowehof is my dog friendly hotel in Stowe. You can call to reserve dog-friendly rooms on the first floor, which give dogs of any size an extra $25 per night and direct access to the hotel’s expansive grassy lawn.
This warm and welcoming lodge is built around raw timber beams and stunning mountain views. It feels like a real alpine run, timeless and comfortable. The world around seems to be changing, but the Stohhof will forever remain a familiar place to call a home away from home.
With simple but clean rooms, this is one of the more affordable hotel options in Stowe. Breakfast leaves something to be desired, so go elsewhere for breakfast. But grab a drink from the Fritz Bar and settle in with your dog. Choose between playing board games in the great hall booth, reading a good book in front of the large sunken fireplace, or stargazing around the roaring outdoor fire pit.
Yappy Hour At The Anchor (ma)
The location of the hotel is also hard to beat. Located just off Mountain Road, within walking distance to Stowe Recreation
